To call my improvised patio-friendly stand-up desk Redneck Engineering is an insult to rednecks. But, the combination folding table, cardboard box, Butler's Orchard bucket was the ergonomically ideal height to work at. The stack was surprisingly steady, too, with no noticeable wobble.
By noon, the temperatures had warmed up enough to make the air conditioning inside more pleasant than the birds chirping outside. But I'm telling you, for a couple of hours, working outside was delightful! It's worth noting that working outside isn't perfect: the neighbors do expect you to wear pants.
I've already started concocting plans for a more permanent work space, but before I get too carried away, I'm going to continue to experiment with my crude setup. It certainly got the job done today!
