Just a handful of articles I found interesting and insightful:
- Happiness Is a Worn Gun - novel view into the word of gun ownership and concealed carry. Like the author, I first earned an appreciate for guns as an 13 year old Boy Scout who loved target shooting. I especially like how the author finds both positive and negative in gun ownership/culture.
- Why Obama shouldn't lead fight against gun violence - David Frum provides a number of really useful insights with this one.
- Scarborough: Today as a nation we grieve - an honest and powerful monologue on how his beliefs have been impacted by the events in Newtown.
- The Glock, From 'Handgun Tupperware' To Top Pistol - a story from back in January that gives some context to gun ownership and the Glock in specific. Done as only NPR can.
- In Memory of The Innocent - A pithy and well written reminder of what's really important out of this whole ordeal.
- Can We Apply Israeli Principles and Proactively Protect our Loved Ones? - I especially like the closing section on the need for improved permit requirements (such as a required tactical training class). Perhaps this would have a bigger impact than banning particular types of firearms? Inspired to help: #26Acts of kindness to honor those lost in Newtown, Conn. - Using technology to help others and spread good will. Fantastic!
- 26 Moments That Restored Our Faith In Humanity This Year - Needs no explanation, just check out the link.
