I'm covering the topic of mobile computing in my up coming class, and I wanted to walk students through ways they could start using mobile computing today.
I cover topics like using Google SMS, and Mobile Blogger.
I'm curious if you have any to add to the list. Which mobile services do you use every day? It doesn't have to be cell phone based (for example, I also emphasize iPod like devices).
4INFO.net (text to 44636) has a similar text message offering, but provides several additional services that Google does not: text alerts for sport scores, weather forecast, stock quotes, horoscopes, and services for player stats ("troy palomalu"), flight times ("swa san jose san diego"). 4INFO recently launched the ability to make any blog or news feed accessible from a mobile phone. In a matter of minutes, you can create a keyword that your readers can search to get your latest post or sign up for text alerts.
ReplyDeletewow, thanks for the excellent tip!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I used 4INFO, and it was awesome!!! I have the new Black Jack where I can surf the Web all day! (Never had that before) I used 4INFO's WAP service, and that is even more useful for those who have a fancy phone like I do! Here's the link, m.4INFO.net
