When we bought our Chevy Cavalier the dealer gave us a wallet key. Which is just what it sounds like, a key that fits in your wallet.
I've been carrying it with me for years now, and whenever I get into the worst possible situation (like locking my keys in my car with the car running), I pull it out and calmly solve the problem.
Like I did this morning, when I realized I had locked my keys in the glove compartment last night while out with the wife (she was driving).
There is a life lesson here. Something about being prepared and thinking ahead. Or maybe something about ounces of prevention and pounds of cure.
